Dave Gerard & The Watchmen released the
I Climbed a Tree EP in April, but I think it's better suited to the new chills of winter settling in your bones. Something about this EP is so tender, I want to carry all the words and melodies around in my coat pocket, close to my heart. The gentle and understated bits of mandolin and banjo don't hurt either.
Stables is a fab track but the whole album is brilliant. Discovered that Dave Gerard also released an EP Under Veiled Light and has a wonderful track called 'Suffer No More'. Awsome album 'I climbed a tree'though very different in sound and style it very much reminded me of the Fleetwood Mac 'Rumours' and Bonnie Raitt 'Road Tested', I loved every track on first hearing those two albums and this is gentle and understated as you say but very wonderful. Looking forward to hearing a lot more of these guys.
