Dancing in the Graveyard Mixtape

There were plenty of graveyard themed songs to choose from this year and it just so happened to fit right in this 16 song and 60 minute long mix.  The bands featured are worth a serious look especially ones like Jared Mees, Veronica Falls, Feist, Ravenna Woods, Radical Face, and Chad VanGaalen who all released terrific albums this year. If you want more ghostly goodness in song format, last year's Songs About Ghosts mix had some of my favorite songs on it and got played year round, download it here. Without further rambling, put on your best costume and go dancing. Bonus points for actually dancing in a graveyard.

Feist - How Come You Never Go There

Metals, the new album from Feist, will be released on October 4th via Cherrytree/Interscope (U.S.), October 3rd in the UK via Polydor, and October 4 in Canada via Arts&Crafts. Denver's KBCO debuted the album's first single, "How Come You Never Go There" and now I've listened to it five times on repeat. Her website has a great snippet of a song and links for pre-ordering too. You can stream the song thanks to Listen Before You Buy and his speedy posting skills. It's everything you hoped a new Feist song would be and more, well worth the wait.

New Apple ipad commercial song

The song is by a Danish band, The Blue Van, and the song is "There Goes My Love". As of this morning the videos on youtube for this song have only been viewed a few hundred times. It will be interesting to see those numbers jump drastically over the next few weeks as the new Apple ipad commercial gets more and more air time. Ipod commercials have been known to have great catchy songs in the past. Now you can decide for yourself if this song fits into the ranks with past ipod commercial songs such as: Yael Naim's "New Soul", Ceasar's Palace "Jerk it out", Feist's 1234, and my personal favorite "Bruises" by Chairlift.
